19 of Daniil Medvedev's 21 titles have been earned on hardcourt
A resurgent the Russian player claimed his first title for nearly 30 months with a win over Frenchman Moutet in the tournament title decider.
The athlete, a former world number one, has experienced a torrid period, achieving just one match at the major tournaments and suffering a meltdown at the US Open.
Medvedev's unpredictability on the ATP Tour - and struggles with his service game in particular - caused him falling of the elite rankings and ultimately separating with long-time mentor his previous coach.
Now collaborating with his coach and Goetzke, the tennis star has consistently advanced in the last few weeks - culminating in a tightly fought competitive victory over opponent Moutet.
It is Medvedev's initial championship following the Italian tournament and maiden on a hard surface since March of that year.
Victory also indicates he has achieved twenty-one titles at twenty-one distinct events.
"This marks the first occasion I'm at a event with my two daughters simultaneously, so to get a championship is especially meaningful," stated ranked player Medvedev.
"This victory is in dedication of my second daughter my daughter, because the first title I won when my first daughter her name was delivered was for her."
The tennis star, the former major winner, had failed in his past six title deciders, including in that event earlier this year.
The player's defensive strategy and recurring outbursts on the playing surface had led commentators to wonder if his skill to compete at the highest level was over.
Yet the player has implemented adjustments in the last few weeks, making an effort to come to the net and perform assertively, reinforced by an enhanced serving game.
He came back from a disadvantage in the initial set against the challenging Moutet, taking 4 of the final five exchanges to gain the advantage.
Both players traded breaks in the following set before the Frenchman, bidding for his maiden professional championship, took control to force a third set.
Moutet saved 4 early-game break points in a competitive final set before Medvedev broke to fifteen to secure the win.
Fittingly, he secured the win with a point at the net area, with Moutet unable to handle a volley after over two and a half hours.
